Fencing With Death

Often Miss Marple's outfit includes a cloak or scarf that she can vigorously throw about her. She steps into her roles with vim: "I warn you: I was Ladies National Fencing Champion in 1931." We are not supposed to believe in these fantastical situations, only to believe that she believes.
