Staged Performance
Marple takes on disguises and play-acts roles to get to the heart of the crime. In Murder Most Foul she does so explicitly, auditioning for a part in a theatre company. But she is only playing the part of the actor, a fact she must hide from the thespians proper.
Her cloak here is part of her superhero costume, as we shall see.
