Curtains For You
The sleepwalk sequence on the ship comes to a crisis as two bodies must occupy the same architectural space. Where better to illustrate this dilemma than in the claustrophobic chambers of a vessel at sea? Marple is forced to hide as another person enters the room. She finds refuge behind the fabric which previously shielded her in a transformation from villager to superhero.
It should be noted in passing that to many this image would recall Twin Peaks, where thick curtains are used to delineate a stage set, a boundary between worlds, a liminal space.
